BAD 25
25th BAD Anniversary album release and the debut of Spike Lee's BAD 25 Documentary - a terrifically warm, affectionate and celebratory study of Jackson's 1987 album Bad. Spike Lee wants to clear away the tabloid smoke and spite, and bring the focus back to Jackson's professionalism, his craftsmanship, his artistry and his pop genius; the movie defiantly insists that Jackson was and is superior to his detractors.
Siedah Garrett releases her tribute song...

"Keep On Lovin' You," is a tribute to my friend and mentor Michael Jackson and answer to our #1 world wide duet, " I Just Can't Stop Loving You." When Michael and I recorded and performed our duet together, it always felt as if he were singing it just for me. I wanted to write an answer, a sort of love letter back to him, that tells the story of how we first met, and how amazing it was to be in his presence and be able to interact with him creatively over the years. This new song expresses my deepest feelings for him, and appreciation for all the personal attention and unbelievable opportunities he afforded me." ~ Siedah

TV cover possibly allowed in courts for Murray's trial
(Reuters) Television cameras will be allowed to film the involuntary
manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson’s doctor next month as long as
they do not interfere with proceedings, a judge said on Monday.
Los Angeles Superior Court judge Michael Pastor also moved forward the date of Dr. Conrad Murray’s trial by four days to March 24, when jury selection will begin. The trial is expected to last about six weeks, lawyers for both sides say.
Murray has pleaded not guilty, and is free on bail. He faces up to fours in prison if convicted. Involuntary manslaughter is defined as unintentional killing without malice, and is a lesser charge than murder.
Pastor said he wanted the “absolute least intrusive placement” of a TV camera in the courtroom and he sought detailed proposals from local news crews. He also blocked cameras from broadcasting jury selection.

The line of HUMAN DECENCY, WORTH, PRIVACY and RESPECT has just been crossed.
On January 13, 2011, Discovery Channel plans to air a re-enactment of Michael Jackson’s autopsy using a realistic synthetic cadaver that approximates his body.Michael Jackson was a human being. And he was a father, a brother, and a son. He was also loved by millions around the world. We believe in the worth and dignity of every human being. Nobody deserves to be treated this way — not in life, and certainly not in death.
It is extremely appalling & disgusting beyond any means that a dignified channel like Discovery chooses to broadcast such a tasteless, sick, rude, low-down, insensitive programme... what does Discovery Channel seek to achieve? This program was cynically planned to be deliberately broadcast in the UK and Europe so that Michael Jackson’s family and estate would have no legal reach and would be unable to stop its airing or protest its broadcast. The plan includes across the board screening in multiple countries. Michael Jackson has three minor children and this will not escape them. This image in the collective memory which will find its way into their world serves to scar them emotionally. As such; this program constitutes child abuse.
In addition, the airing of this program may obstruct legal justice since it has the potential to reach the minds of the public and prejudice the jury pool in the forthcoming January trial of Dr. Murray the physician who administered his medication and was treating Michael Jackson when his death occurred.
The Executors of the Estate of Michael Jackson have added their voice to ours to protest the re-enactment of Michael's autopsy but MORE needs to be done.

'Glee' exclusive: The cast will perform Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' for the Superbowl episode!!!
Gleeks, you probably thought Gwyneth Paltrow doing Cee-Lo was big news. Well, you’re gonna get down on your knees and thank Grilled Cheesus for this latest bit of news I’ve got: A Glee source confirms to EW exclusively that Glee will be tackling Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” for their post-Super Bowl episode…but with a twist. The Jackson classic will be performed as a mash-up with another song, yet to be chosen. But the super-sized episode, which our source says will be the most expensive in Glee history and likely one of television’s priciest episodes ever, will also feature covers of tunes by Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum, and Katy Perry. Whew. I’m already worn out, and yet there’s more… Although “Thriller” is featured in the episode, it will not be a Michael Jackson tribute episode. Nor will it be a tribute to Bruce Springsteen, as rumors have suggested. In fact, our source says that the only pop star truly considered for the Super Bowl episode was Sir Elton John (expect a John tribute episode as part of Glee‘s back nine episodes).
The post-Super Bowl episode will instead keep with the evening’s sports theme and focus on the local football championship and Sue Sylvester’s cheerleading regionals (the “Thriller” mash-up will be played during halftime of the onscreen pigskin game). Basically, it will be a classic episode of Glee, but just bigger and better; Gleeks can also expect appearances from season two fan favorites: Blaine (Darren Criss) and Coach Beiste (Dot-Marie Jones).

Michael Jackson is TOP earner!!! The late King of Pop made more money over the past year than any other musician or actor, dead or alive.
Michael Jackson never graced Forbes' annual Celebrity 100 list during his life. In death, the King of Pop earned more in the past year than any star on that list, apart from Oprah Winfrey.
It was enough to secure Jackson the No. 1 spot on our 10th annual Top-Earning Dead Celebrities list. With gross earnings of $275 million, he earned more than the other 12 deceased stars on the list combined. Still more impressive: His estate's 12-month haul was greater than the pooled earnings of this year's two biggest living acts, U2 and AC/DC. Jackson's posthumous earnings come from his stake in the lucrative Sony/ATV catalog, the hit Sony film "This Is It" and renewed fan interest in music, videos, and all things Michael Jackson. David Reeder, vice president of Corbis' GreenLight, which manages the personality rights for Albert Einstein and Steve McQueen, among other dead celebrities says "In a more positive way, it exposed consumers to this idea that there actually is a market for, and an enduring legacy for, these people."
To place on this year's list, a deceased celebrity needed to earn at least $5 million between October 1, 2009, and October 1, 2010, usually through things like music royalties (John Lennon), book sales (Dr. Seuss), or the licensing of one's image and likeness (McQueen). To compile the list, we spoke to agents, lawyers, and other sources to estimate a star's gross earnings (before taxes, management fees and other costs).
Coming in at No. 2 is Elvis Presley. The King of Rock 'n' Roll's estate pulled down $60 million in the 12-month period, thanks to Graceland admissions and a heavily hyped Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas. The estate's portfolio of more than 200 licensing and merchandise deals got a nice boost from the late star's 75th birthday celebration as well.
Stieg Larsson, author of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, debuts on this year's list at No. 6 with $18 million in earnings. The Swedish writer died in 2004 at the age of 50, before any of the books in his Millennium Trilogy were published. They have since sold 40 million copies, been translated into 44 languages, and spawned three hit Swedish movies.

SUCCESS!!!!! Michael's name has finally been uncovered!
The thousands of fans around the world, who have worked tiredlessly for more than a year to have Michael Jackson's name uncovered from the Gardner Street School Auditorium has finally seen the fruit of their labour! The Gardner Street School Auditorium, which was named after Michael in 1989, was boarded up during Michael's trial and even after he was declared innocent on all charges, the boards still remain and it was a sore sight for his family and his fans. Petitions were garnered and letters written and finally the Los Angeles Unified School District has uncovered the boards and Michael's name is once more proudly displayed where it has deserved to be all these years!
Gardner Street Elementary School in Hollywood was the last public school attended by Michael —then an 11-year-old sixth grader — who was the lead in a singing group with his brothers. Three months after school started, Motown released their debut album “Diana Ross Presents the Jackson 5.” And, the young entertainer was on his way to becoming an international star. At the direction of Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Ramon C. Cortines, the tribute was uncovered today.
“In recognition of Michael Jackson’s musical legacy and contribution to modern culture I have directed our maintenance and operations department to remove the layered board covering the tribute to Mr. Jackson at Gardner Street Elementary School in Hollywood,” said LAUSD Superintendent Ramon Cortines (quoted from the Los Angeles Unified School District Press Release).

Spike Lee-sponsored Michael Mixtape
Peppered with interviews, testimony from admirers, live and alternate recordings, Spike Lee and J.Period's 42-track Michael Jackson mixtape Man or the Music spans Jackson 5 and Jacksons classics through demo versions of classics like "Billie Jean" and "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough" and rarities like "Heartbreak Hotel" and "Ain't No Sunshine." The hip-hop aided transitions between songs are especially enjoyable, like the part where "It's Great to Be Here" turns into "Can't Help It" with a little help from A Tribe Called Quest.
